Launch of Dubai Innovation Hub for Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and SMEs

Dubai Innovation Hub (مركز الابتكار) is an ambitious initiative to empower Entrepreneurship, startups, and Small to medium Enterprises in the Untied Arab Emirates by providing them with access to funding (100 million AED), mentorship, incubation, infrastructure,…
It is positioned as expansion of the Dubai Internet City, Dubai Media City, and Knowledge Village (also keep in mind that D3 (Dubai Design District) is also in progress. They are issuing licenses now and at the end of Q1 2015 see now and end of Q1 2015.)

Stats of Interest:

  • a commitment of 4.5 Billion AED to build it over the next 5 years with multiple smart buildings and technology labs
  • 100 Million AED fund for startups and SMEs
  • Dubai Internet City now has 4,500 companies and hosts 70,000 Knowledge Workers
  • Media sector in Dubai in 2014 has 2,000 business partners, 230 publications, 141 broadcast channels, 500 million viewers
